The coffee table was a great thrift store find and it actually wasn't in bad shape... the legs and frame were painted a cream color and the top was the natural wood. I wanted something that reflected my love of the 're-purposed' look and that also looked great standing alone, as with two toddlers I try to keep access to breakable things at a minimum. I feel that I accomplished that with this table. It's by far my favorite piece of furniture.
The dining table and chairs was given to us by a friend when we moved back to Florida from South Africa and was a solid darker-wood color. I decided to go a little funky with this one and included a South African prayer on the top. I love the way it turned out.
And there you have it... I really enjoyed doing these projects and am looking forward to doing some more in the near future!
Here are a few of my favorite redo's, the cabinet below is a piece my dad built 40 years ago...yep I said 40, the piece is solid, only draw back was it is covered in formica...I needed a "dresser" type piece in my office..the as you can see on the before the colors are red white and light blue. I didn't like the light blue top.......SOOOOOOO, I decided to wallpaper the top....keeping the rest of the piece just the way it was......pretty cool, huh? yea its one of my favoites

My daughter wanted an activity table for my granddaughter. She found this unique coffee table. We (my brother and I) painted the bottom with chalk board paint, and the rest with white satin paint....turned out FABULOUS...she truly enjoys drawing on it.
